Players are associated with a role during a game, which makes different actions available to the player.


The facilitator is the person who leads a TORC Game session. It is also the person who creates and “owns” the game.

Decision Maker

The decision maker is a player with a particular role. As such, this player has more actions available, and it is required in all game sessions.


An observer is a player that has no active role in the game. An observer can only take notes and observe the game.


A player in the Digital TORC is any person connected to the game. A player is associated with a Role


A sudden “disturbance” presented by the facilitator to challenge the players; this is referred to as a stressor in TORC terminology and inject in the vignettes terminology.
